A Natural Home (ANH) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization and its mission is to improve the lives of adults with severe developmental disabilities. Specifically A Natural Home will provide a special needs home to help severely developmentally disabled adults grow intellectually and become self advocates to the best of their abilities, and we will sponsor events to meet the social needs of severely developmentally disabled adults living in other special needs homes. Improving as well as meeting the physical and social needs of these adults will lead to natural integration in the community and society as a whole.
In the home, our goal is to help adults with disabilities develop basic daily life skills at home and to live as independently as possible in a safe and caring environment that is staffed 24 hours a day seven days a week. A Natural Home's motto is that 'We anticipate our residents' needs' and that means in order for these adults to independently care for themselves staff must make sure that personal care and household items are available and accessible. In addition, many of our residents will not be able to verbally tell us what they need so we must anticipate and respond to their nonverbal communication.
